Another drawing in the vein of “what if Mario could get extra-fucked-up Power-Ups?” This one: Pyramid Head Mario! I don’t even want to think about what this Mario does when he finds the Princess….

A birthday card I drew for my friend Chance, who also happens to love Mario Bros. Can you imagine Mario jumping up, hitting a “?” block, and a hockey mask popping out? I think I would piss myself and spend the rest of the day slicing koopas in half. Mwahahaha!

So, AggieCon is this weekend, and as you all know that means one thing: the Iron Artist competition!

Now, the theme of the competition this year was “Zombies: They Fight Crime!” …I started on a half-baked attempt at a zombie taking a “bite out of crime” by ripping out some random hooligan’s jugular, but that was going nowhere fast. When I was informed we had a full hour left in the competition, I decided to cut my losses and just flipped my piece of posterboard over and started again. This time, someone in the audience was shouting about zombie armadillos, so I ran with it, and created this:

Zombie armadillos devouring (and humping the ribcage of) a jaywalker. See kids? Crime doesn’t pay! I thought it came out alright, and was a lot of fun to make despite the weird brushes and tempera paint we used. Now, I ended up winning the contest based on audience applause…. but I’m a big enough man to admit that I think Rocky Kelley really deserved the prize. His piece was a great painting, about the crimes against nature we’ve been committing. Here, check this thing out!

Go check out his stuff, definitely worth looking!

We’re Livestreaming periodically, and adding the occasional Qik video. You can catch up with a bunch of them at YouTube. You can also check back with my Flickrstream — will be sending pictures from my phone as I zombify con-goers!

We think the next Qik video will actually shoot straight to Livestream… but we’re still testing. Thank you to everyone who showed up in Livestream when we did the first broadcast today! [Having trouble with Qik sending videos to Livestream OR to YouTube -- so there are a few too many kinks to work out this weekend. Keep an eye on Twitter and we'll link you to stuff that's going on.]

Cue Clip: “Jizz in my Pants” by The Lonely Island

So, this is the “dirty” version of an illustration I cleaned up for Megan’s fantastic Idea Catalyst Kit, and I wanted to share it with you! It illustrates the first time I tried a bacon chocolate bar, which might end up being one of the defining moments of my life.

The ‘Kit is a pretty fantastic piece of Creative Jump-Start, and a sweet kick in the ass for people like me who have some ideas, but never know what to do with ‘em. So, whether you need more ideas, or better ideas, or ideas about what the fuck to DO with your ideas, I highly recommend it to anyone.

…especially with all the pretty pictures in there. Doesn’t hurt, right?
