Alright, folks, this is it: the big project I’ve been talking about in a hushed whisper for the last couple months! I thought my birthday (and, incidentally, the anniversary of me becoming a full-time artist!) was the perfect day to introduce the world to Dead Ringers: custom miniature zombie sculptures!

Dead Ringers is a joint effort between myself and Welsh sculptor Phil Hynes, who brought the idea to me this year because we’re both rabid zombie fans, and we both want to make zombie art for you people! When you order a Dead Ringer, you send us photos of yourself (or your unsuspecting zombie victim!), and Phil will sculpt your likeness as a flesh-eating zombie! …then, as if that weren’t enough, he sends me the sculpture, and I paint it by hand to bring out all the putrid details! Read more about them at the Dead Ringers page!

We’re offering two varieties: Groaners, which are sculpted zombie busts; and Shamblers, which are full-length cartoon-scale zombie sculptures! Also, if you want your zombie to be toting around a skateboard, or a pitchfork, or a chainsaw, or some other prop or item, feel free to ask us about custom pricing for extras! Your zombie is fully custom, based on your photos and your specifications: tell us what kind of damage your zombie should have (missing arm? exposed ribs? missing eye? torn throat? hole through a cheek?), and we’ll make it happen!

Here’s the AWESOME part: From right now until the end of August, we’re giving them to you for 50% off. Dead Ringers are already marked down 33% in the store, but if you order one and use the code “BIRTHDAY”, that pulls it down to half off! Also — you can use the BIRTHDAY discount code to get 25% off of any other items in the Meat Market! I want to give something back to all you people who have helped me keep myself full-time employed making art over the last year. If not for all your help, feedback, and support, I’d never have made it this far!

So, help me celebrate my birthday & 1-year-anniversary of freedom from the 9-5 Grind! Get yourself a mini Zombie Doppelganger that’s sure to make everyone talk. That’s me: spreading the zombie plague full-time since 2008!

Check them out here: Dead Ringers, Custom Zombie Sculpts

I’ve been working on a lot of exciting things lately! And I want to show them to you!

First of all, the zombie roleplaying game I’ve had in the works for the past year (which you can read more about in my Tabletop Zombie Madness! entry)looks like it’s finally wrapping up – I’m working on the cover right now, and should have it ready soon! Here’s a preview:

Also, Marty birthday festivities will begin this weekend – I am gonna tear some shit up, man. It’s my last birthday before I hit the three-decade mark… does that mean I have to start celebrating like an adult? God, I hope not…. I just sent out a delicious tidbit to the mailing list, which I will unleash on the rest of the world in about a week (on my birthday, interestingly enough!), so come back for more soon! Trust me, it’s worth sticking around for!

In other news, I continue to get my ass kicked on a regular basis by my Crossfit workouts. If anyone’s interested, now you can read my workout log and send me encouragement (or mock my suffering) at the Crossfit Discussion Boards. Keep me honest, folks! How else am I gonna turn into your chainsaw-wielding Zombie Savior?
