Crypto-Lesbian Subtext

We’ve got another Live Nude Drawing session scheduled for today at 2-6 (CST)! Instead of the advertised site, however, we’ll be holding this one at:

…and let me tell you why:

So I held another Live Nude Drawing session Thursday night, and it was a lot of fun. I ended up doing over 20 notecard drawings by the end of the night, and had a great time chatting with everyone who came to watch. We ran into one small snag, however. During the session, my friend Matt (who is a great guy, and is in no way responsible for what happened next) recommended I draw “Crypto-Lesbian Subtext,” a phrase from a paper on Victorian literature he was reading. So, obviously, I drew this…

Crypto-Lesbian Subtext

…I don’t know what else I could be expected to do, really. But, a few minutes after I finished the drawing, and everyone in the session got a good chuckle out of it, the feed went dead. A little window popped up on my screen that informed me that:

“You are banned. Reason: Nudity.”

…..really? I mean, I read the terms of service, and saw that they don’t allow nudity or pornographic / sexually explicit content to be broadcast, but I took that to mean “Do not point the camera at your naked junk and wave it at the internet.” I didn’t think artistic nudity would get me banned. Y’know, Americans are way too uptight about boobs. We need to calm down, and start worrying about the things that will actually damage our children. I mean, really, let’s look at it this way: Kids are going to grow up someday, and if they’re anything at all like us, they’re going to spend the rest of their lives trying to see more boobs! What are we afraid of, giving them a head start?

Baby Food

Anyway, we don’t blame Ustream too much — they were just enforcing their terms of service as they put them down. We sent a friendly (and I admit it — submissive) email of apology to let them know we misunderstood, and we’d be happy to keep artistic nudity out of the feed. No word from them yet, but I hope they aren’t too steamed. We’re flexible!

So as you might guess, we’re going to have to get pretty creative with our nudity at Stickam, since we don’t want the same thing to happen again. And we have some ideas, so don’t worry too much — you can still get doodles and illustrations with nudity in them, we’ll just have to do a little dance around having the nudity actually on camera. We have some ideas, proffered by the wonderful viewers who stuck around and helped us test Stickam Thursday night. So join us on Stickam at 2 CST today (and watch out for that crypto-lesbian subtext)!

Oh wow! I had no idea. And yes, America is pretty uptight about these things. I mean it's a drawing, not real life people… hmm..

Good luck getting it resolved. It's so much fun watching you draw!

I'd like to be the first to request that you have Megan lie down nude on your drawing pad, and you just trace around her with a crayon — thereby combining both art and porn in one simple image.

I would even be willing to pay more than $5, depending on the resolution and the position of the model. And the number of chainsaws that she's juggling.

    Boobs? Really?

And of course the ironic thing is that children have already *seen* boobs. Large boobs dangling in their faces for, say, the first 2 years of life. Boobs are natural, people!

    Stupid Americans. :D
