I Made the Big Time!

4 or 5 years ago, when I was waiting tables at the best damn seafood restaurant in Youngstown (which is actually a really great place for seafood, despite its only competition in town being Long John Silver’s), one of the owners asked me if I would be interested in drawing some cartoon crabs to use on their menus. I loved the idea, and told them to feel free to use the illustrations for anything else they wanted. Years later, I received a phone call from my dad, exclaiming that he’d seen one of these on his way home from work:

YCC Billboard1

YCC Billboard2

….so the next time I was in town (which was pretty soon thereafter), we took a drive and got some pictures. Just wanted to share them with you, and get to show people my art on billboards all over northeastern Ohio, and western Pennsylvania! What do you think?

  • I can see your signature in the corner! Whee! (:
  • Yeah, I was happy they decided to leave it in the picture! I thought that was pretty cool! (^_^)

    !!!!

    That is so fucking awesome.
  • Thanks, Nick! It seemed crazy at the time - I mean, why the hell is my stuff up on a huge billboard? But neat. (^_^)

    It is crazy.

Marty you do great work. This isn't the first time you will be impressed with where you find your art.
