Meat Market 2: The Reckoning

This is Megan the M. reporting for blog-posting duty!

You may or may not have noticed that we launched a new Meat Market storefront yesterday. Before this week, we were using the Market3 plugin for WordPress — which, while it isn’t a bad solution for a very small store, fell far short of what we actually needed in order to run things around here.

Changes like this always happen in three-day bursts. I found Shopify weeks ago but I wasn’t really sure it was going to happen until last week. And we weren’t completely sure we were going to launch with it until — you guessed it — three days ago. From there to here was a pretty wild and exciting ride, but I’m ridiculously pleased with Shopify’s functionality so far. They have their flaws (like everything else under the sun) but wow, not bad. Not bad at all.

So the next time you order something from the Meat Market, you’ll see a lot of great things you didn’t see before — like automatic order and shipping notifications, images that don’t flake out under server load, better browseability and organization. And what you won’t see — how freaking easy it is now for us to keep inventory and orders organized and manageable — will put both Marty and I in much better moods, which means we’re more likely to give out random discount coupons.

Oh yeah! We have discount coupon (RFMTC6GU) functionality now, too. ;}

Oops! Did I just give you a 10% discount coupon!? You’d better go try it out. It’s only good for the first three check-outs. RUN! RUN FAST! (Ooh. I feel dizzy with power.)

Dude, Shopify is freaking AWESOME.
