Nightmare on Sesame Street

I posted this image earlier this week at Tasty Flesh, but I wanted to talk a little bit more about it here on my blog, if you don’t mind. I call this masterpiece of mayhem: “Prairie Dawn of the Dead!”

Prairie Dawn of the Dead

Now, I’m sure that some of you are horrified. …I am equally sure, however, that none of you are surprised. You might think that I am being unfairly cruel to such a beloved childhood memory in a mean-spirited way. You couldn’t be more wrong, and here’s why: I love Sesame Street. I grew up learning with Kermit and Grover, and laughing with Bert and Ernie. I loved all the amazing (and amazingly varied) animated segments on the show. So, Sesame Street has a very special place in my heart. (Except for Elmo. I think he’s a terrible addition, but that’s a whole different discussion.) But for someone like me, who is a rabid, blood-thirsty, twisted zombie fanatic….. zombifying the cast is my way of showing my love and appreciation for my childhood friends! They say you always hurt the ones you love, and I couldn’t agree more.

Also, to be fair, most of the cast of Sesame Street were already monsters to begin with! They’re just… a different kind of monster now. So, I hope you can all enjoy this, and appreciate a little more of the sentiment in it now. …because you’ll probably be seeing it in color sometime soon. Mwahaha!

…that’s because, when you’re a zombie, it’s *easier* being green.
