Holy cow! The response I’m getting to the Fundable project (“Make Marty your Art Bitch!”) has been *amazing!* Already! In the space of like, 12 hours or so, I’ve gotten so many pledges! Thank you! At this rate, we’ll have no trouble hitting the mark, we’ll get to start early, and we’ll get to create some *truly* bizzare, beautiful, crazy collaborative artwork!
I noticed that some people declined the invitations we sent out for the event, or said they would not be attending. …then, some of the same people went and pledged anyway! So obviously, there is some confusion here. I just wanted to clarify that the purpose of the RSVP is just to show support. There’s no *actual event* to come to, and you don’t have to pledge money to RSVP. So if you declined, but maybe didn’t mean to, feel free to come back and accept. We’ll *always* take you back. (O_~)
….of course, I also just had an idea. What if we *did* have an actual event? I could sit in the middle of a room, and people could mill about and party, and dance to music, and occasionally come over and see what I’m working on, and either spout encouragement, or berate me and demand that I fix something, or change something, or add something *else*, and then I will cry and make the requested changes. That sound interesting to any of you?
One Last Point: If you’re one of my $30 or $50 pledges, you get to tell me what goes into this piece! Only a couple of you have actually sent those in yet (in the form of 2 adjectives and a noun), so start thinking! What do you want to see in this piece? And remember that I will need your addresses (physical, mailing addresses that I will not use to stalk you I promise as declared in a court of law) so that I can send you your Donor Schwag when we’re done!
